An conditions, all-terrain ripper that strays from BD's "all touring, all the time" mantra, the Black Diamond Impulse 104 TI Skis aren't just good backcountry skis, they're good skis, period. Made with an eye to outstanding downhill performance, the Impulse 104 Ti uses classic sandwich sidewall construction and an edge-to-edge sheet of Titanal to give it guts, and a long rockered tip to keep it up over pow and chop. This ski will rip as hard and as fast going downhill as anything in the business.

The Black Diamond Impulse 112 TI Skis are full on front side chargers. They do have a notch for a tail strap, but at 2030 grams per ski in a 181 they're meant to rip the downhill - and if the uphill takes a bit longer, so be it. This is a full-strength, sandwich-sidewall construction ski with a sheet of Titanal in the layup to make scary speeds manageable and buyers who don't rip hard on it aren't getting their money's worth.
